Fako SDO hands classroom keys to head teacher as chief Aaron looks on

Speaking during the solemn keys handing over ceremony at the school campus situated immediately after the Mutengne “Big Mop” market, the second class traditional ruler of Mutengene Mo Bwenge, Chief Aaron Ngeka said after the school was razed down he could not remain indifferent.

Emphasizing the pivotal role education plays in the life of children, Chief Aaron maintained that he and his traditional council could not bear the fact that young children had to cross a national road to study at the temporal site which was lacking both in infrastructure and sanitation.

Receiving the keys to the classrooms before handing it over to the school head teacher, the senior divisional officer for Fako, Engama Emmanuel Ledoux appreciated the effort of the traditional ruler in ensuring that education is made available all.

While applauding his strides, he urged the entire community of Mutengene which turned out in their numbers to ensure that the renovated property is well protected and those he termed “enemies of education”.

To the head teacher Nzitone Bridget Esunge, her pupils who for months now have been learning under uncomfortable conditions will be able to enjoy the comfort that was deprived them. “We are very happy and thank chief for coming to our rescue. At the temporal side, we were congested and could carry out the teaching and learning process with ease. After today am sure a lot is going to change.” She said.

Recalling that during the arson attack they lost close to 130 benches, the head teacher called for the support of all and sundry to ensure that the young pupils whom he tagged “leaders of tomorrow” are accorded decent education.
