One of Cameroon’s best known female footballers, Gaëlle
Enganamouit, has set her sights on taking women’s football in Cameroon to the
next level. She intends to bring her modest contribution to the training and
management of young female footballers.
The 24-year-old footballer who savoured Cameroonians
with impeccable foot display during last years’ Female World cup in Canada and
the Female AFCON hosted by Cameroon last year
announced the creation of a football academy to promote women’s football
and assist vulnerable children and girls in particular.

The announcement was made last week Saturday during
a special ceremony where gifts were distributed to vulnerable children in the
Soa locality found in the Centre region. The project to create the female
football academy, Gaelle, told the press was an initiative of her Enfant Du
Rail Foundation.
Enganamouit who won the African Ballon d’or in 2015
was vacationing in Cameroon and decided to pay a visit to the Afiti-Bongo
orphanage in the Messamendongo neighbourhood in yaounde, to the children of the
Petit Dan et Sarah Foundation and to students of Government Bilingual Secondary
school Akougou in Soa. During her tour of these institutions, she came bearing gifts
of food, desks, and didactic equipment for the children.

“This is my little way of thanking and showing my
support to all the parents who support our careers as footballers. Through our
foundation we will partner with other associations of goodwill to continue providing
help to vulnerable children. Our objective is to promote education because it
is a stepping stone to becoming a better person in life.” she said.
