NOW mov’t stamps its feet in SW region

The nonpartisan body which aims at unifying Cameroonians towards a new republic with Akere Muna as their presidential candidate, is gaining grounds in two English speaking regions.
With little over three thousand members already registered as at December 2017 and with groups in Cameroon as well as the diaspora, representatives of the NOW movement, a nonpartisan structure which is vying for the establishment of a new republic with Bationnier Akere Muna as head of state has currently stamp its feet in the South West region with North West being their next target.

Top executives of the structure who believe in governance by meritocracy and the active participation of youths in national matters were last weekend at the seaside resort town of Limbe to put to task the first regional command team in the South West region.

Commissioning the Coordinator of the Limbe branch, the acting regional coordinator for the littoral, North West and South West regions, Samkoh Tepong Victor emphasized the urgent need to get to work and to create groups in all divisions, sub divisions, municipalities as well as quarters spreading the ideologies of the new republic.

The regional coordinator applauded the Limbe branch for been very active earning them the position as the first branch to be formally recognized in the region. He tasked the local coordinator to get to work so as to ensure that in less than two weeks, all will be put in place for a for the South West to have it regional president.

He equally called on all Cameroonians to register massively on the voter registration and to participate in the upcoming presidential elections and help bring the change. To him, voters’ apathy has to be uprooted from the minds of Cameroonians, whom he said have given up on the system.

To the Douala chapter president, Peter Metambi, Akere Muna presents the future of the new Cameroon with youths at the forefront and governance built on the premise of meritocracy.

While announcing his readiness to accompany the newly created chapter in their task of spreading the philosophies of the NOW movement, he said the first major step is to get Cameroonians to register and participate during the presidential, parliamentary as well as local elections thus curbing voters apathy.

Steve Amara, head of communications at the NOW movement who accompanied to delegation from Douala said “this first meeting was very insightful, we see a great group of young people who are really determine to push the movement forward in the region and bring people together towards barrister Akere’s project.”
“Also mobilizing on the ground around the idea that a new republic is possible and a new republic will come not tomorrow but now” he said.

The NOW movement, it should be said was launched on October 8, 2017 when Barrister Akere Muna announced his candidature for the upcoming presidential elections. The movement aims at bringing Cameroonians of all works of life to ally with the idea that it is time for change, and time to federate energy towards a new republic.

With foot soldiers on the ground to educate and reeducate the population on the importance of citizen engagement, political proposition and the new republic, representatives of the NOW movement, say it is time to build a new Cameroon.
